Method, exchange rules, and limitations

Standard Amazon distribution royalty = (50% or 60% × tax-exclusive list price) − printing cost. KDP selects 50% or 60% by marketplace and list-price threshold. This planner uses KDP's published thresholds; the user supplies the print cost returned for their print options and marketplace.

Expanded Distribution estimate = (40% × tax-exclusive list price) − printing cost. This tool does not estimate printing costs, taxes, VAT/GST, withholding, price matching, eligibility, hardcovers, eBooks, exchange rates, or individual exceptions. Japanese yen is shown to whole units; other supported currencies are shown to two decimal places. Always verify with KDP's current Rights & Pricing calculator before publishing.
